Valle del Bove

The volume emitted by this effusive eruption, the longest of the 20 th century (14 december 1991 - 30 may 1993), varies, around the estimations, from 200 to 700 millions de m3 ; it would be the most voluminous from Etna after the eruption from 1669. It threatened Zafferana.

Val Calanna


The end of the lavaflow which threatened Zafferana : in the end, only orchards and vineyards have been destroyed. But failure in the expansion of the lavaflow has made an inscription on a small house of Val Calanna made famous by the media :
