5th July 2002

2002 : This summer was very far from the memorable activity of last year !
Only activity was a violent and dangerous explosive activity from Nort-East crater, but when I was there on 5th July, it was mute....
I had just to visit all South face from volcano, from summital craters to Silvestri, through the famous Laghetto. It's always fascinating as in some weeks all the morphology of an active volcano can be changed...

General views of South face (going up from Montagnola)

From Laghetto : lavaflows issued from hornitos ; back, summital craters.
