Batur
(Bali Indonesia) (1988)

For its inhabitants, Bali is considered the centre of the world. It’s like a fish whose eye is the Gunung Agung, gills the lake Batur (at the foot of the volcano), the tail is Gunung Prajat Agung and the dorsal spin is the chain of mountains crossing Bali from East to West.

But for the unbelieving westerners, Batur is just an active volcano which is easy to reach in foot.
It is a spectacular combination of lava flows and well defined craters in a huge 12 km caldeira.
